I am a high school junior and I am highly interested in attending Cornell University. Thus, I would like to increase my chances of acceptance by applying through Early decision. Although, If I get denied by Cornell as an Early Decision candidate, can I still reapply through regular admission? Also, I would like to make myself stand- out in my senior year of high school(Fall semester, August to December), but would Cornell notice my academic achievements before they notify me of my entrance? Would my mid- year reports be too late by then?

You cannot reapply through regular decision. Applying early you will either be accepted, rejected, or deferred to regular decision. I think mid-year reports usually make it in on time to affect regular decision applicants, although I’m not sure how much of an effect they have.

Even ED applicants that are being seriously considered grades are checked via phone call to GC to make sure their grades have not dropped & they haven’t dropped any rigerous courses during the first few months of school.
