Cornell ED Class of 2021 Discussion Thread

@Savi428 they emailed us with a link and a pin. Results came out on 8/12 at 5:00pm est

so, no one here got accepted to AAP so far?

Does anybody know when the financial aid info comes out? In the mail?

@raaraora I’ve been checking this feed every five minutes since the decision came out, but no. Tbh I think people who got in are too busy celebrating that they won’t be on cc LOL

Even I was wondering about the financial aid situation. The CoE website says we’ll get an email within a week but I was hoping to get some sort of acknowledgement email from the fin aid office giving the exact date and stuff

@BX My interview was on the 21st

Also, does anyone have any idea when we can expect the official letters in the mail? Do they send those out immediately after notifying us?

My son applied to HARVARD ED… Im so terrified… results… Tuesday, Dec.13. On a brighter nite, he had an unexpected visit from Princeton today at school… #Great News. BTW, do they email you a day prior to the release date?

@Lincsanity . You should speak with your Guidence counselor on strategy. S3 was deferred from HE, a few days after the deferral he reached out to speak with the admissions director of HE to discuss why he was deferred. He asked his Sr year AP history teacher to submit an additional letter of recommendation. He sent a supporting email claiming Cornell remained his first choice, sent his 3rd quarter grades and his guidence counselor sent an additional letter of support. He was admitted as a FYSA student. Good luck.

@mbc99 No, and surprisingly, the two other people that applied to ILR at my school were deferred as well. Another girl who applied to CAS was deferred. An engineering guy was rejected. Haven’t heard anything else from my town. You?

@rebecca12345 I seem to always run across you on these threads…to all those that applied to Cornell and were accepted, congrats! To those that weren’t, hang in there…great things will happen to you RD and you’ll end up at a school you love!

To those deferred, I was in your shoes last year! It was tough, but you’ll get through it!

Remember to keep your grades up and your performance in EC’s consistent! I will tell you this: if you applied to a

contract school, around 40% of deferred students end up with a guaranteed transfer. In my group of ~8 students,

almost everyone who applied to a contract school received a GT, with one student being accepted through Diversity

Day. Don’t lose hope! This is not the end. After all, if they didn’t want you they could have rejected you outright!

If anyone has questions or wants to vent, feel free to shoot me a DM!

And most of all, remember that you are more than a college decision.

Accepted COE (Electrical and Computer)

To all the Indians who have got accepted, care to get together or talk??
It would be interesting!!

I have applied to COE, Civil and environmental engineering

Does Bengali count lol? I mean I’m brown and all haha
I got into ILR BTW, congrats on engineering

Hi! I was accepted to AAP!

I think we should make a separate thread for those who got accepted
Deferred people should make one too, for solidarity:)

@nellyrko obviously man…bengalis are INDIANS!

@doorla Awww I wished to hear good news from you as well! Oh well, I heard Animal Science is one of the most competitive majors in CALS. What’s your next choice?

Deferred CALS- nutritional sciences

I’m not surprised, considering the program in CALS is so small (~25 people per grade).
