@holdencaufield007 I guess you just have to wait…they have to notify you in any case…I dont think you need to worry…and ya thanks…you too will get a good amount of aid!
Man, yesterday (technically the day before yesterday since it is pass midnight now) I got deferred. I felt fine.
It wasn’t until now when the true feelings start to kick in…
Hey guys!! Follow @cornell2021 on instagram so we can try to start connecting with each other! Congratulations to those that got accepted and good luck to those deferred!
@RUHTRA999 EXACTLY!! I was kinda okay that I was getting a second chance and was really determined to work my a** off! But now I’m all like the deferral was just a polite way of saying no and I have no shot whatsoever.
I checked the application status and it indicated that I need to use pin and password from the notification email but I have not received any email - does anyone know what it means ??? I had applied for CS
@tsdesai we all recieved two emails from Cornell: one telling us that the decisions come out on the 8th, and one with a pin and a link to the webpage where the decision would be posted.
Also, has anyone who applied for aid NOT heard anything from Cornell? I just saw their tweet that said they’ve notified all those who applied for aid 13h ago.
I didn’t get any email and I’m dying a little on the inside.
@holdencaufield007 Get in touch with them. Ask them if this is something to be worried about
@sargamprakash I emailed the office, but since it’s the middle of the night there, I’m gonna have to wait for 5-6 hours to get a reply, which is enough time for me to completely freak out and go crazy worrying.
@holdencaufield007 Ahaha I understand your situation, but think of us deferred sheep who have to wait for 4 more months 8->
Congratulations to everyone who got accepted! Welcome to Cornell
Lol I followed the instagram account then realized my ig name is the exact same as my cc username…now you all know who I am!!!
The worst part about rejection doesn’t seem to be actually getting rejected from Cornell, but having to go through the entire process again and wait another few months… I just wanted to be done lmao
Got deferred from CALS InfoSys. See you guys in a few month in the Reg Thread haha
@RUHTRA999 @sargamprakash I totally feel the same. It kicked in really hard last night when I saw a lot my friends getting into other schools. But, it’s time to move on, since you both are architecture applicants, I’m just wondering where else do you really wanna go?
@raraora Well, Cornell is the only college that I’m applying to. I’m an Indian and it’s super expensive for me to study in the US. I can study at the best arch colleges here for less than 1/10th the cost of Cornell. But I’m willing to stretch myself only for Cornell (I LOVE YOU BIG RED!!). So, it’s either Ithaca or anywhere in India.
What about you?
did anyone here get deferred from Human Ecology?
@sargamprakash @raraora @RUHTRA999 I also applied to architecture and got deferred. Kinda bummed out right now, as I know that there are only a few spots and some are already filled. I’ll apply to Rice, Syracuse, USC, RPI, UCL (in UK) and Cooper Union. Getting a deferral is making me feel like I won’t get in to any other schools aHHH.
@jionrubia Yeah I know…no matter how much your try to be positive, it still hurts.
@sargamprakash @raraora @jionrubia
I considered RPI but since I am international I can’t ask for $ and their tuition is actually pretty high so I decided not to apply. I will apply to Syracuse as well. I don’t think my stats are good enough for Rice. They really place a big emphasis on scores…I will apply to Cooper Union, clearly realizing that I stand no chance there…I think it’s easier for me to get into AAP than Cooper Union lol. I will also apply to UM Ann Arbor, Notre Dame. I also doubt that I stand a chance at any of these…
wow…my future is gray.
