How do they request it? Through the applicant or directly from the HS?
Not only the mid-year, they will want your end-of-year transcript too. To a) make sure you didn’t decide to check out last semester, and b) to make sure you graduated.
@brantly, are you sure about the mid-year? At least according to the engineering admissions page, that doesn’t seem to be the case for ED applicants who sent quarter grades:
“Mid-Year Report. We strongly recommend that students provide a current senior-year grade report. For early decision, this is a quarter-year report. For regular decision, this is a mid-year report. If you are admitted to Cornell Engineering, you will need to submit your final grade report.”
I think @brantly is correct. I saw the same for Humec. If your ED you don’t need to send mid year grades just finals.
At this point, if you were deferred from ED, you are in the RD pool. I would send in mid terms, especially if they are strong.
I should have been clearer. Cornell will see your midterm and final grades, whether your school sends them now and after graduation, or whether they just send them after graduation.
ED applicants who were accepted don’t need to send in mid year reports. I saw it more than once in questions and answers on their website such as here: https://blogs.cornell.edu/admissions/2012/09/24/a-blog-for-early-decision-applicants/
That said, my d19’s high school automatically sends them to all colleges the student applied to unless the student asks them not to so d’s probably were sent anyway.
I applied to Cornell class of 2023 RD. If I did not receive a notification of package, does it mean I’m rejected? I’m international.

they will not be sending emails until the day of. however, it is confirmed that the decisions are being released on the 28th, according to the portal. check your portal for a detailed letter !
