Hello everyone, I am torn between Cornell ED and Penn ED…ik this is a ridiculous question but which college is generally easier to get into through early decision (side note…i am fully aware that the ivies are insanely hard to get into)
According to this website https://www.■■■■■■■■■■■■/2019-ivy-league-admissions-statistics/ Cornell’s early admission rate was 27.2% and Penn’s was 23.9%. Probably not enough of a difference to matter. Apply to the school that best matches your academic interests because you will be better able to show why you belong at that school in your essay.
I think you should save those spots for someone who really wants to go to one of those schools. People applying early decision should be applying to a school that they are absolutely in love with. Cornell will only be harder to get into if you do not fit into the school you are applying to. Don’t apply to engineering just because you love engineering, you have to have a vested interest in it. 11 Kids from my school went to Cornell last year.
OP, if you are just throwing darts, pick any
Seriously though, don’t worry about which is easy. Think about what if you change your mind? Think 2-3 options and see how each one stacks and then decide. Don’t just look for ivy stamp. Also, consider crowd. You will be taught by professors few hours a day but you will be with students much longer.
