Cornell ED vs RD acceptance % 2024

Since Cornell didn’t release their admissions stats last year, how much do we think they cut the acceptance rate by based on their statement?

Cornell chose to admit less applicants in the ED round last year, but they did admit 4% more total applicants in the ED+RD rounds than the previous year. The ED admit rate may have stayed the same or moved slightly. Since they chose not to release this data, anyone answering here would just be guessing. One reason for less ED admits could be Cornell deciding to take less legacy applicants. Again, I don’t know anything. Just a possibility.

If you’re trying to pick an ED school by trying to reverse engineer the admission statistics, I’d advise against that. Pick the school you love the best and put your energy into crafting the best application you can.

Good luck to you!

Admissions stats can vary year to year. If Cornell is your absolute top choice and it appears affordable (run Net Price Calculator if not full pay) then apply ED. If that is not the case, do not apply ED. End of story.
