Received a selective award (1 in 100) that basically recognizes students who are good people (probably doesn’t mean anything to Admissions)

You are a competitive applicant but it’s tough for international candidates. Be sure to have match and safety schools on your list as well.

Self-studying Chinese and writing the SAT with that score is impressive. You have great extra-curricular activities as well. Are you an international student? I didn’t pick up on that from your post. I recommend you toggle over to the Cornell board and read the threads that post admissions stats so that you’ll have a better idea as to your competition. Best of luck!

It’s very hard to tell until you get your SAT II scores. You would need high 700s in math II and physics if you want to get into CoE. It is going to be a lot for you to re-take SAT and those 2 subject tests.

Oh yea  I should’ve made clear that I’m not an international student. I’m from SoCal

tbh being an asian male from SoCal will hurt you when applying as a MechE. imo ur ec’s and award list is a bit weak. especially if you’re going against the odds, for math did you do any amc’s/aimes? for physics wb usapho? how long have you been doing ur internship and do you have any papers out?
