Cornell Engineering Essay prompt, Sibley school of MAE

<p>Hi everyone,
I have a question on the supplement prompt for the engineering program at Cornell (Sibley school of mechanical and aerospace engineering). Here is the essay prompt: </p>

<p>Tell us about an engineering idea you have, or about your interest in engineering. Describe how
your ideas and interests may be realized by—and linked to—specific resources within the College of Engineering. Finally,
explain what a Cornell Engineering education will enable you to accomplish.</p>

<p>The problem is that I’m interested in aerospace engineering, however Sibley only offers Mechanical eng. as a major and Aerospace eng. as a minor to undergraduate student. Now, I want to talk about my interest in Aerospace, but dont know if it would be out of topic or not (afterall, the program is officially called mechanical engineering). Do you have any suggestions regarding this issue?</p>

<p>I would say you should focus on why the major is the best fit for you. So you have to mention why mechanical engineering is somewhat important to learn for you, even though your main interest is Aerospace eng. </p>
