Cornell Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

@OwlOfAthena I don’t know if it’s true, i was just clarifying what I thought @enviscimath11 meant. But if they said you’re fine then I wouldn’t sweat it!

That’s wrong. Cornell has plenty of finaid money to go around. The only thing that may happen is that you may recieve ur finaid package later than your actual acceptance letter.

@parkcentral

That’s basically what they told me.

@parkcentral good to know! thank you

Hey just made this to wish everyone good luck, been keeping up with thread but never made account.

I’m a TO and my financial aid stuff went from initiated to ordered about a week ago. Had everything in by March 10th.

ILR TO friend got called saying she was in on Friday.

First round comes out on Tuesday, people can do the “pin trick” monday at 5am to see if theirs is being released the following day.

(I’ve scoured last two years transfer threads. Don’t get worried if your fin aid stuff hasn’t changed. You probably got everything in late.)

Question for those who may know a past transfer, do they hold suites on west campus for transfers? I have 4 other transfers I want to room with in a suite, and am hoping they hold rooms. Friends who currently attend have said west is already full so :(… fingers crossed for everyone!

@cornellto2022 What exactly is the “pin trick?”

@cornellto2022 They do hold housing for transfers on west, but I’m not sure about the specific availability of suites. Also, I handed in my midterm report kind of late (march 29th) so do you think I’d still get my decision by next Tuesday? I’m a TO for CALS, and my FA still is initiated.

Hi everyone for those who are hoping that decisions will come out early may, I don’t believe it will because I haven’t turned in my mid score report and and I emailed admissions about my situation and they said “no rush” and they can accept it within the next two weeks. So I believe they’ll start evaluating by may.

@bujolover25

I submitted my midterm report on the exact same date and my fin aid also says initiated. I’m a TO as well

When people try to check their financial aid checklist does it sometimes redirect you to a website for login with “oracle peoplesoft”?

@natalianavajo that happens to my daughter alot. Peoplsoft is the system you are logging into to check your FA, but it looks like they use an external system for single sign-on. If you wait a few seconds after the initial login with your pin, it usually works. If that doesn’t work, close all instances of the browser and try again.

@ndcuva that sucks, I was hoping to know by the time my semester ends

probably going to have to wait for second round. check your fin-aid every other day. if you fulfilled all your stuff, you’re good. I even got a C in one class (oops) but still had my 3.0 and required so it don’t matter.

look on last year’s thread for pin trick… will be explained there. I don’t have link on me right now or Id explain

just click back and try and login again. make a new tab. glitchy site.

@ndcuva - I don’t know if those things have to be correlated in the way that you are saying. While I absolutely believe what you are saying is possible, I think there is also the possibility that they could start evaluating before the hard deadline to 100% complete applications. Kind of like a “rolling admissions” style ig.

The reason why I am saying this is not just to be optimistic, but also because I’ve seen plenty of other posts that the first round of decisions will be announced next week (before May 1).

Let me know your thoughts!

Very glitchy. Every other time the login form won’t even recognize the password. Close the tab, try again—then it’s the PeopleSoft page glitch. Close again, try once more—finally in. So buggy.

FYI- “Pin Trick” not always foolproof- it worked for some who were waitlisted, as well.

Should we expect the first wave next Tuesday? And for what timeframe of submitting the application will probably be announced with the first wave? I submitted my application on 2/27/19.

Will we get an email notification when our decision is ready? Or just keep checking the portal?

FYI-when I get peoplesoft, I hit the back button on my browser and it goes back to the previous page and then refreshes to the correct page. I never have to exit and log in again.
