Cornell Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

You should probably call the Financial aid office to make sure youe financial checklist is complete. @yayy12

@Optimistic_22 I submitted all financial aid docs and the portal says “initiated”. Are you accepted? If so, did you hear anything after the acceptance?

My son applied regular decision last year and was waitlisted at Dyson. Didn’t stay on the waitlist and went to Emory. Had a 4.0 first semester and on the deans list. Will have 50 credits after this semester including his AP’s. He had a 33 ACT composite and a 34 superscore. He has legacy. Hoping for good news soon. But who knows??

Something kinda interesting i’ve noticed:

Finaid had the whole list on initiated, called cornell asking about a code, was told to submit fafsa. A few hours later, i didn’t submit my fafsa yet, i found my finaid list stating no to-do items found.

Anyone else?

Haven’t yet heard back. Dyson non-TO. Did you submit a personal statement? Or only the transfer question? @yayy12

Fafsa is not a FinAid requirement if you aren’t seeking financial aid. Did you submit a css profile? @parkcentral

Haven’t submitted anything yet @Optimistic_22

@Optimistic_22 yeah I’m Dyson non-TO and they didn’t ask me any personal statement, but I submitted one because I had a mouthwatering statement.

@ranger1 your son’s stats are very solid, wish him the best. He is already in a top college, Emory, and I think the weather in Atlanta might be better than Ithaca, NY, he still look to transfer to Cornell?

Better rated business school. Keeping options open. Applied to Wharton also. Legacy there too.

@ranger1 I see. Best wishes to your son, I feel he should get in at least one.

Same to you! You never know.

Has anyone who didn’t get their decision for CALs have their transfer transcript change from initiated to ordered for this upcoming Tuesday? I sent everything into Cornell before the recommended date of April 15 so I’m wondering why I have to wait so long

Could somebody please explain the PIN trick to me? lol

https://decision.applyyourself.com/?id=cornellu go to that website and hit forgot pin/password and put your email, you’ll get an email with your pin in it and a link to reset your password. I’m pretty sure this only works like the night before people are getting their decisions- so if it doesnt work for you try monday night

@stressingstudent does the pin trick also work for students who have applied before (like their senior year in high school and then applying agin as transfers)?

not sure, im assuming so since it works for people with the GT

Should we expect another round of ILR on Tuesday, or since they did a large amount of non-TO rejections last week should we expect it to be much later?

@wkdalswjd the pin trick doesn’t work for people who applied in high school - you just get sent the same pin as the one you used back then to check your status. When the pin trick actually “works,” you get sent a brand new pin, and that will actually give you access to your decision.

I hope I get my decision this week!
