@henrynb no I’m not from DC. No, I don’t think transfer students need to take subject tests, I didn’t submit mine because I didn’t take any.
@yayy12 No, I’m not from northern Virginia. I would go to the school with better financial aid because to me those two schools are equally good and financial aid is a big factor for me.
Any non-to CALS still waiting? Trying to figure out it’s CALS or me that’s postponing the process lol
Took the L from AEM as a non-TO junior transfer. 3.8 college GPA, 4.0/34 ACT/1510 SAT high school stats for whatever its worth. Pretty decent resume in terms of business experiences and volunteering, but I knew AEM is super hard to transfer into, especially as a junior. Best of luck to everyone else still waiting!
Non-To cals here still waiting!
@BobSagets did you actually talk to someone? Can you PM me? I am in the same boat and wonder if they made a mistake because I definitely met and exceeded all the requirements and I just can’t think of any reasons for this decision. I called and they said they don’t have anyone to talk about it until June.
hey guys so yesterday I got rejected over the phone…last week I called and asked them if its possible that ill get a decision this week and they said yea. but the pin trick didnt work for me last monday and I didnt receive an email yesterday; I had to deposit for my other school and so I called cornell yesterday and they told me I was denied. It seems like they have some decisions ready that they are not releasing yet which seems really unfair because if they already knew whether they want us or not so why hold us up. if I didn’t call I wouldn’t have known and would have waited another week and missed the deadline for deposit for my other university. I would suggest for those still waiting to check whether they have something for u. I applied to CAS btw
@aple @BobSagets Hey guys I am in the same boat. I am a Human Ec TO but got rejected. I definitely met all the requirements too. Please PM me!
Guys…more than 90% of the applicants meet all the requirements and beyond…doesn’t mean Cornell is going to accept 90% of the applicants…it all comes down to what Cornell looks for in your essay and recs
@Optimistic_22 To be fair, TOs that meet the requirements are supposed to be automatically accepted, so it is very weird for one to get rejected if they met their eligibility.
My bad didn’t realize you guys were TOs…I would definitely call undergrad admissions in that case
@aqaqseattle Unfortunately I can’t PM you because I don’t have enough post yet. Did you call them? I called but they won’t let me talk to anyone til June. I really don’t understand and is very frustrated. I see postings from others that they don’t even meet all the requirements or GPA and still got in.
@coolfam mind if I ask your major?
accepted to SHA!
oof should I call CAS, she said “call back if you don’t get a decision this week” but like i’m not sure if that was just to be courteous or if she meant it…
its very strange that i didn’t get into human ecology as a TO. i went to a top liberal arts college this year, included new research i had done, and even got my first aid/lifeguarding cert this year. i had a 1520 and 103 gpa (high school grades on a 100 scale) in high school.
im just scared that at this point, it doesn’t even matter. i don’t know how they could reverse the decision.
@BobSagets Did you meet the TO requirements, including no diciplinary actions? It is very odd to see several people not get in on the TO, considering they did tell us they have never turned away a TO that met all of the requirements for their major.
@BobSagets Did you call them? Do you mind PM me. Thanks
yes i did. in fact, i messed up my gpa really badly trying to fulfill those requirements because I had to take a writing class along with calc and orgo 1. now i have a 3.4, and i wanted to go to med school. at this point, im beyond infuriated because not only can i not go to cornell, but my gpa is practically ruined.
