Am i strong applicant?

Which school are you applying to?

Your ECs are good, but everyone applying there will have great activities on their resume.

Cornell, Univ of Toronto and Michigan!

Please guys! Need your help!

With what?

Bounty meant which college within Cornell are u applying to

Well i have my eyes on college of architecture, art and planning. But since i still have two years of high school, i might even go for engineering! Are my cocurriculars decent?

AAP for architecture is notoriously hard to get into, and they put a lot of weight on your portfolio, which should be composed of regular artwork that shows you can think three dimensionally. Your EC’s are kind of lacking for the fit they are looking for, since the online course is the only thing on your resume that’s remotely arts-based. If you want to get in, I would look around for an internship in the field and/or enroll in an AP art course.

Engineering is roughly the same. The Australian chem award would help, but you seem to lack other crucial things. Have you taken AP science courses? Also, join clubs like robotics, do computer programming, etc. to make yourself a stronger applicant. An internship here would also help.

Also, if you have any hooks (first gen, female engineer, etc.), that helps

Well they have no AP courses in India. the curriculum is same for all students.
And what do i do for architecture other than my portfolio?

An interview is mandatory. Since you live in India, you might have to do the written interview, where you respond to preset questions- it’s online. This is heavily weighted as well- they want to see that you are right for the department.

What I’ve heard about arch admissions: 1/3 portfolio, 1/3 interview, 1/3 transcript… so I would focus on getting the portfolio and interview up to scratch

If there are no AP classes, try to take as many art classes as you can manage for architecture, and a lot of science as well, for engineering. The art really pays off, since you can submit some of it as part of the portfolio. Anything works- photography, charcoal drawing, sculpture, etc.

does my portfolio only have to include artwork?
can it include poetry or music?
