I think we just have to wait till our decisions are released on our portals on ivy day. I think HEOP sent out postcards last year, but it’ll probably be around the same time, if not later- assuming they do it this year again.
Yeah I think that’s the only thing we can do now, wait. Did you guys get any interviews though?
I had a phone call with an alumni but she didn’t participate in the HEOP program herself.
Did you attend the webinar that happened today?
Hey, did anybody hear back from Cornell yet? I’m in this group chat with other applicants and although they’re not being considered for HEOP some are finding out that they got in already or received likely letters or phone calls. Maybe HEOP students don’t get likely’s, I’m not sure.
Yeah I got a likely yesterday, and I applied through HEOP
Does anyone else have anything else going on? It would be nice to see and compare where everyone is at right now.
Ok I’m sorry I lied about the likely but I want to find out more about if anyone heard back from HEOP. No one talks on here I just wanted to see if anyone would respond
Seriously?! Lol. No likely for me. I feel like they’re still reviewing our apps tbh. Just a feeling tho. How bout u talk about urself instead of trying to get us to? What u apply for? What are ur stats? Did you attend the webinars? Where else did u apply? What are u up to?
congrats!!
Oh wow lol. But yeah you could talk about your intended major and things of that sort. I feel like there isn’t really anything left for us to do but be patient and wait. Decisions are coming out in like a week. Omg it felt so far but it’s actually so close
To get more info/insight I followed cornell’s HEOP instagram
And I’m just applying for a whole bunch of scholarships rn. I really didn’t want NYC schools to close. Now my senior trip is gone for sure but prom is potentially gone as well. Plus who wants to stay home everyday for 5 weeks lol.
Could you share any scholarship info? @AB2024
There was one that already passed but it was the Lil Nas X Scholarship for 10,000. I know there is a UNCF Stem Scholars Program which is for African-American students who are interested in STEM and the Kevin J. Shaw Jr Foundation scholarship, you should check it out as well.
Did anybody hear back from any schools yet? I checked my decision for Barnard today and I got wait-listed but its fine lol, I didn’t feel too confident about my interview and my intuition was right but I’ll demonstrate continued interest through a letter. Ivy Day is sometime next week if I’m correct and I’m really anxious but good luck to everyone! Cornell is my dream school even though my parents would never allow me to go lol.
I got an email last week saying that I was accpeted into Cornell. I was a candidate for HEOP and had a phone interview in Febuary. The email didn’t necessarilly say that I got into the HEOP program, but i’m assuming I did, since that was what my application was being considered for.
I was denied by Barnard
@aissyatou543 Congrats!!! Can you share your stats?
@AB2024 Why wouldn’t your parents let you go?
I got rejected from Barnard, but I didn’t qualify for HEOP there because I have a high ACT English score. I’m really, really hoping on Cornell or Columbia.
