I read in the the class of 2013 and 2012 post graduation reports that 89% of graduates from the hotel school are employed in the field in jobs like real estate and property management, with median/average starting salaries around 52k. This seems almost too good to be true as you are almost guaranteed a job, and has attracted my attention greatly. Can people share their own experiences and/or knowledge on this program?

Yes, hotel graduates do very well. They have the highest employment rate. There is a very strong alumni connection. My nephew has had an internship every summer through the school’s alumni connections. Not all of them go into hospitality industry. They get jobs in IB, real estate management and consulting.

oldfort, does your nephew have an internship at a hotel? I know cornell hotel places very well in hotel INTERNSHIPS but not so much for banking

My nephew has not worked at hotel since high school, in preparation of getting into Cornell. He worked at different commercial real estate investment companies.

i see, thanks
