I really love the Cornell Hotel School due to the fact that it suits my personality and affords me the opportunity to gain a great education in an area that I am very passionate about. I have read many threads on CC regarding admissions to the Cornell Hotel School, and it seems that work experience within the hospitality field is valued much more than grades and test scores. If I was to have valuable work experience, what grades and test scores should I shoot for if I was to apply ED to the Hotel School? All comments and advice would be greatly appreciated!

did you end up applying ed? i think a b+ is the minimum for a decent shot

also, what kind of work experience do you bring if you say that it has a huge role in it

@hotelieatheart‌ how do you know b+ is the threshold?
I was wondering if anyone knew what the admissions process for HOTELIES is like. Would it be different from other schools since the hotel school values experience a lot?
The School of Hotel Administration looks at the whole picture, and does not have a minimum gpa threshold. Exposure to the hospitality industry is not a substitute for a strong academic background, but gives the applicant a better context for the focus of studies in the major. The SHA definitely likes to see applicants who have a strong passion for hospitality, as you describe.
