Hi! I posted a thread earlier but I think my constant editing made it self-delete? Unfamiliar with this, so I apologize if I am reposting(?)
My daughter wants to go to Cornell ILR for ED because she likes public policy. I’ll post her stats/info below.
GPA: 3.6 UW, 4.2 W (she goes to top 3 boarding school, very well known so maybe this makes up for her GPA?)
ACT: 33 (retaking)
SAT: 1480 (retaking)
Math 2: 750 Spanish: 730 US History: 650 (retaking) Bio M: 690
Activities:
- Won school award given to 1 female/grade (sophomore and junior year)
- Dorm Prefect and RA
- School Newspaper Political Column Writer
- LGBT Co-President
- Christian Fellowship President (fundraisers, Christmas caroling in local community, homeless shelter visits, etc)
- Paid Spanish tutor ($18/hour)
- Robotics Club- 3rd place regional winner in 2016-2017 year
- Peer Health Counselor
- School dance choreographer and ballet dancer
- Tour Guide
- Varsity Soccer and Varsity Utimate Frisbee (Captain)
- This summer she is going to shadow a lawyer/lobbyist in Washington DC to learn more about public policies
Are her stats too low? I know compared to others on this thread, she isn’t a perfect student. However, she really loves politics and cares deeply about working for social justice/human rights (hence why a lot of her extracurriculars are revolved around helping others)
