Cornell Impacted Majors? CALS vs CAS

What majors for Cornell are impacted, as in hard to get into?

Is the neuroscience (Biology with Neurobiology and Behavior emphasis) major hard to get into or competitive at Cornell?

And also, what is the difference between CALS and CAS other than the New York State University funding, specifically resources and acceptance rates? I’ve heard it’s easier to get into CALS.

Thank you!

CALS for instate, CAS for OOS or international IMO.

CALS and CAS offer (mostly) different majors, different in-college credit requirements and different distribution
requirements. Suggest you review the relevant websites for details.

By acceptance rates/stats , overall CAS is more selective than CALS. However this may be an oversimplification.
CALS accepts by major. It is generally considered that some of its majors are more selective than others. But the breakout data has not been made available. Moreover, some majors that may show lower reported stats may be greatly influenced by “fit”. (eg, love those farmers…)
