<p>Yes, many alumni (myself included) thought the “red box” logo was pretty unsophisticated and not very suitable for an institution of Cornell’s stature. So they had a formal evaluation and went with the current “Cornell University” and round “shield” which is a modification of the traditional Cornell emblem. <a href=“Home | Cornell Chronicle”>Home | Cornell Chronicle;
