Is it stupid to want to go to Harvard over Cornell because of prestige and nothing more? Cornell has the classes I want (botany) and I also want to study zoology - I can see myself double majoring. I sort of think of the 2 + 2 program at my local community college for entering CALS as less prestigious then Cornell itself. What have you to say of it?

CALS is a college within Cornell. Graduating from Cornell after two years of CC will grant you the same degree as somebody who spends 4 years at Cornell; it’s the same thing.

That being said, CALS is as good as it gets if you want to study any of the life sciences, besides maybe Duke. Harvard doesn’t even offer a botany/zoology related undergraduate major, whereas Cornell has both an animal sciences and plant sciences undergraduate major within CALS.

Thank you for your answer dearest. By the way how does one edit posts?

@Plantboy You can only edit posts up to 15 minutes after posting them.

Unless you’re holding acceptance letters to both in your hands, I wouldn’t worry about it too much
