I received a voicemail from a Cornell alumnus and she said, “Hello my name is ____ ______ and I am a graduate from Cornell and part of the Cornell Alumni Ambassador Program. I am calling regarding your application to Cornell, please give me a call back when you can. Thank you!”

I called back and had to leave my own voicemail…

Should I be expecting some sort of interview? Or could there be a glitch in my application that she is calling to discuss?

yup, it’s an interview call. lol, where do you live?

I also got that exact message when my interviewer called and I had to leave my own voice mail for him when as well… was a bit confused because they never mentioned “interview” in the message. but i’m 99.99% sure yours is too, good luck :)

No, alumni try to get to as many people as possible. Since most alumni live in major metro areas, you stand a better chance of being contacted for an information session than if you lived in a more remote area.

I don’t think it’s for an interview. I got a similar call from an alumni who said the same thing you said above about a week ago. The person just asked if i had any questions about Cornell and i said not right now, but I’ll probably think of something later. So she just gave me her number and that was that. All the times that i have had an interview, the person told me right away that they called to schedule and interview. By any chance are you a minority?

yea. I got an email from human ecology asking if i had any questions and so forth. Its kinda random cause i talked with a student rep like 2 months ago.
