Cornell RD Class of 2022 Applicant Thread

@KANIMBA01 I have stats similar to yours and I received a LL/diversity hosting invite. I have quite a backstory and very unique ECs but I do know how it feels to statistically have very little chance… Feel free to PM me with any questions/advice!

@LondonVall I just tried to register and it went well. We need to print out and send the parent registration form and it looks like we will be all set. I wish they had told me there was a deadline so I didn’t have to worry!

Absolutely, I got WL from many of those schools. It means nothing. I got rejected from Miami and Tulane (ha). And WL at Chicago, Northwestern etc.,.

Got the same

This wait is killing me lol

Good luck everyone! Don’t stress too much! Take it easy

How much does legacy help? I don’t think Cornell has released any info on this but if anyone has some insight I would appreciate it. Both my parents went to ILR undergrad

@Kd6410 My brother went to Cornell for both Undergrad and grad and I think that helped me. They can see where your parents and siblings went on your Common App, so seeing that you have a history and personal investment into the school, I would imagine, would help even though they’d never say it

@Kd6410 I looked up legacy on their website. It said that those with legacy can give applicants a slight advantage if they have strong academic excellence and personal record.

They just sent out an email reiterating the Wednesday release, good luck to all!!

Does anyone know about years past, or have any info on underrepresented students getting in if they did not get an early write or invitation to diversity hosting? It still possible to be admitted, right?

just got an email saying this. i’m assuming everyone did though:

"As we near the end of regular decision application review for Cornell’s Class of 2022, we would like to share with you important information regarding admission decision notification.

You will be able to view your admission decision online, Wednesday, March 28, beginning at 7 p.m. (Eastern Daylight Time). You will receive an email on Wednesday, with information detailing how to view your decision."

@maybeDmom an URM is way more likely to get in without a letter than with one

@777629 I didn’t get that email but I’m not worried.

Does anyone think that the tone in the email is kinda depressing?

@happysnappy I got the email just now.

I got the email too. I don’t think i got in :frowning:
I emailed them asking about likely letters and how if there was still a chance for me ( since i didn’t receive one) this is what they sent…

Dear XXXX,

Thank you for your note. We appreciate your continued interest in Cornell. We will release admissions decisions on Wednesday, March 28. Please monitor your email next week for instructions.

Best regards,

they are so weird for releasing the emails at different times, but we all will receive the email. If you haven’t check your spam and stuff. Good luck!! @happysnappy at what time did you receive your email?

Wait what is this about “likely letters”?

Anyone know of someone who has gotten into A&S without the SAT II requirement? Lol, rip me. I had a legit reason completely out of my control and they said they would still give me full consideration, but I’m just gonna take that L
