@MaizeScream isnt that only if the yield rate were to be 100%?
Good luck to everyone… but please remember, getting in is the easy part… Cornell is a difficult school and is going to force you to be your best, especially the ENG students… you shouldn’t be going into this thinking it’s going to all be a blast like HS, and how you were smarter than everyone else.
the cornell reddit can give you a feeling about how these current students deal with the pressure and stress.
accepted or not… you will all find your place
@trp2000 early decision has a near >90% yield as it’s a binding acceptance
Cornell admitted nearly 10% RD last year. https://admissions.cornell.edu/sites/admissions.cornell.edu/files/2017%20Class%20Profile%202021.pdf
Considering yield rates are going to plummet this year at most schools, it will probably stay the same at 10%.
Hey guys. I made a thread for Ivy Day, so if any of you guys want to check it out and wait it out, here’s the link:

Good luck! :)>-
Just got the email 9:48 CST
@MaizeScream – not quite b/c you have to take into account yield. They admit more than 4967 b/c not everyone who gets in RD will enroll. I don’t know Cornell’s yield rate but basically you’d multiply that % by number of 4967 and add it back to number of admitted then divide it by number of applications. So, if yield is 60% they are admitting 40% more than 4967 --roughly 7300? (Someone correct my quick math, lol)
@miscparentname – but RD yield rate is not!
Just received the email too. Best of luck to everyone today!
i used students admitted not enrolled
@AlmostThere2018 yes you’re right… i was thinking you were wondering about the ED applicants
@MaizeScream – gotchya! well, then, you’re right and clearly smart enough to go to Cornell! Good luck!!!
@MaizeScream I think your estimation is pretty close if referring last year’s figure (https://admissions.cornell.edu/sites/admissions.cornell.edu/files/Class%20Profile%202021v3.pdf). Class 2021 RD admission rate was 10.9%.
Cornell’s yield was less than 50% last year jeez. 4500 admitted RD, 2000 enrolled. ED 1300 admitted and only 30 or sth declined the offer.
Your looking at a 2000 ish enrollment this year.
@AlmostThere2018
hopefully the admissions officers think so too ;_; good luck to you!!
ima go ski for a few hours and decisions will hopefully be out when i arrive home
Cornell’s financial aid portal may update today and tease out acceptance?
does “Inquiry access denied.” come up under Aid Year Description for everyone?
@trp2000 Mine says “There is no financial aid information found”
I’m an international applicant though so illegible anyway
@trp2000 It comes up for me.
