No FA here yet.
Just curious, has everyone received the FA package?
Didn’t your son commit elsewhere anyway? If so, I wonder if they stopped proceeding with processing the FA? I have seen some parents on the page say they’ve gotten theirs but not many. Terrible that it’s so slow.
Cornell’s Director of Admissions actually suggested my son deposit elsewhere to ensure that he had a place to go in case Cornell was unaffordable. They also set up a form where you could extend the commitment deadline by a week, so until today.
For what it’s worth, we still haven’t received anything. I spoke to FA today and they said that it has been processed so we should receive an email soon.
Ironically, my son received an survey request asking him to rate the admissions process at Cornell…
That survey hopefully includes FA.
Cornell at least if he were to commit there hasn’t done a bunch of stuff for incoming freshmen that would put him behind. Whereas at other schools they’ve already started orientation programming, passed housing deadlines etc so in that regard you’re in good shape.
There has been a lot of negative posting lately on the parent page. Also a lot of speculation about some tragic events that have happened. It was a little disheartening but understanding to see the parent of an incoming freshman ask what is good about Cornell. I was happy to see how many parents had great things to say. No place is perfect and they all have warts of some sort but it’s truly a great place for the right kind of kid! It’s not for everyone but for those who it is they really love it. Hope it works out for yours wherever that may be.

Hi, we are on the waitlist and heard the commitment day has been pushed to the 24th. Does that only apply to those who did not receive the FA package?
No, it also applies to those that requested commitment extensions (due to further questions about financial aid or for other reasons.)
