Cornell Spring 2020 Transfer Thread

I also applied for CAS, but the sociology major. My applicant checklist is still there for me on the portal. Nothing changed so far. This is really weird.

Thank you so much! Good luck to you as well  Please let me know if you hear anything!

Should we expect for some decisions to be out tomorrow? Is anyone able to use the pin trick?

I am really uncertain that we will be able to know if decisions will be released sooner than expected. Additionally, I am also unsure as to what the pin trick is. Thanks for the insight, much appreciated!!

I logged on to submit some paperwork after emailing the admissions office and they responded back saying I should submit it through my portal…
checked portal and saw:

Important Note for All Applicants
Cornell University requires official documentation as part of the application process. For students who are admitted and enroll, the Undergraduate Admissions Office verifies the authenticity of information submitted as part of the application process for a random sampling of entering students.

Anyone else seeing this??

Anyways I hope all you guys get in and wish you all the best!!!

I am a chem major btw, what majors are you guys?

@strgglngkd yes, I saw that too and I am applying government major

@strgglingkd I think that’s on all of our portals. @sarahillman I’m also a bio major applying to cas and mine hasn’t disappeared yet

So the pin trick is:
Go to https://decision.applyyourself.com/fl_login.aspx?id=cornellu , Click “Forgot your PIN or password” and reset your password. After resetting, you might see when your decision is going to be released.
This only works if your decision is going to be released tomorrow.
This doesn’t work if you’ve applied before, since it’ll only send you your old pin.

Also, to everyone who’s checklist disappeared (@hopetotransfer1 and @sarahillman ), do you mind sharing your stats?

not to go on a tangent but https://www.cnn.com/2019/11/17/us/cornell-university-student-death-antonio-tsialas/index.html

My checklist disappeared too and only left the “Important note for all applicants” thing, don’t know what it means. Does it indicate that we will hear back soon?

@Ryder9 did you try the pin truck mentioned above?

My checklist also disappeared but the PIN trick doesn’t work for me. I applied to CAS.

yea I’ve tried, but nothing happened.

Weird, maybe they’re prepping them to come out later this week or next week

My application checklist is still here. However, they definitely updated their website. One of the items missing is the “withdraw my application” option, which is usually tied with the release of decisions (at least for other universities). However, this may not be the case for Cornell. This also may be a glitch and your checklist along with the “withdraw my application” option may reappear by tomorrow. I really hope that they release decisions soon, however, given their regular schedule, it is way too early for decisions to be released anytime soon. We will just have to wait and see. Best of luck!!!

@strgglngkd That should be at the bottom of everyone’s application portal.

I emailed CALS yesterday to see exactly what day decisions will be released. They wrote me back right away and said this…

Thank you for your email. Decisions will begin to be released on a rolling basis beginning this week for Spring 2020 Applicants. Please keep in mind that the time at which your decision is released is not an indicator of whether or not you have been admitted or denied admission

What does it mean to have decision released and not indicate admitted or denied?

@WWWayne Not sure…the decision should indicate one or the other I would think. Did you receive an email or somethin?
