Cornell Tradition Notification Date?

Hey all, I applied for the Cornell Tradition Fellowship as a first time applicant in May (I’m a rising junior), but I still haven’t received word of whether or not I was accepted. I submitted all of my materials on time, so unless my forms were lost in the office, I don’t think it’s a case of missing materials. A friend of mine who applied last year received her acceptance letter on July 14th (2010), so I’m wondering if it’s a case of only receiving notification if you’re accepted or just that I should just be more patient (which will be tough for me to do :P). I don’t want to bug the tradition office just yet since it’s still mid-July, so any info y’all have would be helpful. Thanks!

Hey! I applied this year as well (rising soph) for Tradition. In an email from the supervisor sent out at the end of May, he said that a letter should be sent to your house sometime in mid to late July. I didn’t get anything yet, so I don’t think it’s a big deal. If you don’t get it by the first week in August, I’d contact them!

That actually worries me a little. Was that an email sent only to you or to all prospective applicants? I never received an email from him aside from answers to some questions I had concerning what could be included as service hours (in late April or early May). :S

I think it was sent to all applicants, but I’m not 100% sure. Call the Tradition Office tomorrow and ask about the status of your application (and tell me how it goes please!)

hm. I just sent an email to the office since I’ll be working tomorrow. I’ll let you know what they say (I hope I get a response tomorrow. The supervisor is generally pretty quick when it comes to responding to emails).

"I hope you are having a nice summer. We do have your completed application and decisions are currently being made. We will be in touch via a formal letter to your permanent address. These will be sent out early next week.

All the best,
JNS"

Thanks for the information Blastoise & good luck, hope you get in!
