Cornell transfer success

Has anyone successfully transferred to an Ivy? If so I’d like to hear what your grades, ECs, recs and everything were. I am looking to apply for the fall sophomore year (2017).

I want Cornell because they don’t require SAT

S1 transferred from UMD/Smith to Cornell/Dyson after his freshman year.

What was his stats?

@trojan12321 what school are you interested in? I would say that if your reasons for transferring to a prestigious institution are only based on the waived standardized test requirement, you will not be successful. You have to research the program and actually be able to demonstrate why you would be a good fit. Why Cornell and not Brown? Why Cals instead of Cas (or whichever college you are interested in). Your reasons must be compelling. Remember that there are more students with good credentials than spots available.

write a good essay and have amazing recs, get an internship/job or some sort. I had a 3.5 and was able to transfer in

@socoutmia hi, I saw your name on the fall 2016 transfer thread–how late was your ILR acceptance (I’m a fall 2017 hopeful)? From what I can gather, for those posting here, the later the Cornell decision, the higher the chance of rejection.
