Cornell Transfer!

Hello Everyone!

I have just a few questions.

(1) Would re-taking the SAT/ACT help my application? With 2 years of college completed already, I feel it would be a bit too easy (I’ve already taken the MCAT!).

(2) Is it too late to apply as a transfer after my third year of college? (So essentially I will do 1 year…)

(3) Do previous rejections hurt future applications? In other words, should I apply for Spring 2016, but then if I am rejected apply for Fall 2016? Or should I wait until my application is more competitive and apply for Fall 2016 only?

(4) Would poor second semester senior year HS grades (senioritis) hurt me significatly?

Thanks so much!

In response to (2), most schools ([including Cornell](http://admissions.cornell.edu/sites/default/files/UAO%20Transfer%20Guide%202014.pdf)) require you to spend at least two years at the school, so if you transferred you’d probably be looking at an extra year.

  1. After 3 years of college, SAT and ACT are irrelevant. What matters for transfer is your college academic record.
  2. With 3 years of college, some universities will not admit you at all. You need to see if your target is open to letting you transfer after 3 full academic years. This information can be obtained by calling the admission office (it might be on their web site too).
  3. Given the fact that you are further along in your academic career when you apply a second time, it is probably less likely that you will be admitted (see #2 above). You also need to see if your target accepts spring transfers (again, you can call them or check out the web site).
