Cornell/UC Berkeley Transfer chances??

Hello.
I will be a Sophomore majoring in Finance at Trinity University, a decent liberal arts school in San Antonio, TX. I am planning to apply to Cornell University (Industrial and labor relations school) and UC Berkeley(Business Administration School) this year so I can go in as a Junior. Here are my grades, extracurriculars, and facts. I would really appreciate some opinions on some advice and opinions about my chances of getting in.

GPA: 3.47/4.00 if all goes well Sophomore year
I did terrible my first semester of freshmen year but I have been showing a sharp improvement (All A’s) after that semester while taking 15-16 credits each semester.

Extracurriculars (College only):

Presuming that my essays are pretty good, would it be a good choice to at least try and apply?? All responses are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

While Cornell has the most forgiving transfer admission policies for Ivy schools (near 20%) many seats are reserved for students of the state university system for NY state, and is still very competitive. Same holds true for CAL.

Further, the general criteria for admission is that one would have been already able to obtain admission had they applied for freshmen admission. Finally, the next most important is the desire for admission, with the most prevailing reason being your current institution not holding the degree or major of your choice. Given that you will be competing against many CC students who have a priority over you in the transfer process, well, it is not impossible, but it will be highly competitive. Best–
