Cornell University Transfer Option

Nolan

My daughter also has a TO from Nolan. Does your kid have Karim’s (their advisor) contact info?

Yes. She sent an email a week ago, but no response yet. I will ask her to follow up.

They take a long time to respond, but at least for Human Ecology it seems very clear that you must take the required classes.

Yes. I wonder what can be done, however, if the university they are at does not offer that class or that class is completely full as is the case for my DD. Maybe nothing? Summer school?

I’d see if a nearby community college offers the class.

According to Cornell’s website, online coursework is also acceptable as long as it’s from an accredited college.

I believe there are several options. Cornell wants the course completed before arrival. It could completed online or at a community college and possibly over the summer before entering Cornell.

I’m sorry it’s stressful right now.

From what I’ve read, they really don’t want upcoming summer classes to be part of the mix, the classes should be in progress this spring.

Maybe D24 can some how waitlist for that one class, but unlikely.

My daughter ended up getting her TO on Tuesday and is currently thinking it over. Did anyone else decide to do the TO or is taking it? My daughter really likes her current school, so not sure if she will switch or not…

Congrats! Difficult decision, but it’s great to have options.

What school did she originally commit to?

She has decided to take the transfer - she did her first year at Cal Poly SLO.

Good luck to her on the transfer. I have heard great things about Cornell and think that success there can lead to many opportunities!

Does anyone know when TO students receive housing assignments?

I heard that it was some time in mid-late June.
