Cornell University Waitlist Class of 2022

First of all, @db8islife congratulations. One of 10 for CAS who got off the waitlist or university wide?

i thought they said they weren’t taking people for fall 2018…

It’s surprising that CAS itself put 3000 students on waitlist!

CAS @totwocollege

Hold on. So they only accepted 10 ppl off the waitlist this year? That’s crazy! And congrats @db8islife! Were you the last one who got the call?

Congratulations.

@db8islife Congratulations! Wow, to accept only 10 from the waitlist they need to have a ridiculously high yield. Did he say “10 accepted up to now” (meaning more may come) or “we plan to accept no more than 10” for CAS?

Any update on HumEc??? If results are not coming Friday I’m confused

Why is today/Friday significant for you with Human Ec, @Hephaestion ?

Last year humec updated people on the 15th so I feel like it should have been this week.

Today is the last day of this week that the admission office is officially operating. So if it’s not today, I am afraid we have to wait until the end of June or something like that… painful!!!

how do you know today is the last day they operate? And when will they continue? @jessicala

@M_51222 Because I tried to call them on the weekends and nobody answered. There may be officers working through their personal phones? Idk…

Hmmm, well, you 3 certainly know your timing, @Hephaestion , @M_51222 , and @jessicala . Let’s hope since it’s only a little after 11 a.m. that some news will come today. Just to have something final.

Nothing so far… Cornell has abandoned me lol

@Winky1 Because today is the last day in mid-May. Nothing has been released yet, though. Cornell’s Commencement in 27th, so waitlist results must come out before that. Let’s hope we’ll get the final decisions by then.

@Hephaestion What does “Cornell’s Commencement in 27th” mean? @jessicala why does results not have come this Friday mean that we will hear in “end of June”? (Why can it not simply come out next week?)

@db8islife what was your intended major? Did you have any special hooks?

@intlnavigator I hope you understand fully that none of us is a Cornell admissions officer and that all we’ve said is speculation. Cornell’s Commencement is May 27th, around which the admissions office will close; this makes it plausible that they want to wrap up the waitlist before that. However, sometimes waitlists do last till “end of June” - Johns Hopkins has “extended summer waitlist”, while Vanderbilt closed their waitlist on July 14 last year.

@db8islife what was your intended major? Did you have any special hooks?
