I was admitted into Cornell Class of 2019 Regular Decision, and I was hoping that any current undergraduate could tell me about the university with respect to attitude of students, school appearance, quality of teachers, dormitories, surrounding neighbourhood and party scene.
Not a current student, but I’ve been there. Purported as the most beautiful Ivy… word on the brochures is Ithaca is Gorges (gorgeous because of its waterfalls and gorges). Definitely a couple of waterfalls nearby. The campus is large, and quite hilly. There’s a bowling ally on campus by the dorms. Neighborhood is quaint and quiet, relatively safe, though isolated. Most places can be reasonably accessed by the buses. Hospitality is a big thing at the school (look at it’s hotel school). Most of the employees at the hotel I saw looked like students. It was kinda funny, charming, and awkward.
Ithaca is as nice a college town as you will find.
You will want for nothing.
It is more likely to find current students and/or parents of current students in the Cornell forum. All the questions you have are covered there by past threads, I suggest doing some reading there. The internet has lots o pics too.
Thanks for answering!!
