Cornell vs Columbia for Industrial Engineering - Systems Engineering

Hello discussion forum members,

In your opinion, which school has better Industrial or Systems Engineering program? Cornell or Columbia? I am looking into healthcare focus. I did the research about rankings, but I would like to hear from the members’ subjective opinions. I already got into Cornell and I am waiting to hear back from Columbia.

They are both ranked 8th in Industrial/Systems Engineering programs in US News. (https://www.usnews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-engineering-schools/industrial-engineering-rankings)

Also, their Engineering Schools are both ranked #13 in US news as well. (https://www.usnews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-engineering-schools/eng-rankings)

Also, Industrial and Systems Engineering seems very similar. Would you be able to differentiate the two degrees?

I did some research and according to International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE), it seems to make no distinction between Systems and Industrial Engineering programs. Below is the link to the programs acknowledged by the Council and there are both Industrial and Systems Engineering programs acknowledged by the International Council.

Any opinion would be helpful.

Thank you so much!
