Cornell Waiting List

For class of 2008ers…was anyone expecting to gain admittance to Cornell U. but was instead put on the waiting list? Just curious, and what school did you eventually choose? I was told by numerous individuals that Cornell would be a match-safety school (even though I didn’t think so)…

To which school at Cornell did you apply?

It is common to underestimate the selectivity at Cornell. The College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Engineering are more selective than some of the other Ivies. The specialty schools at Cornell, like Agriculture and Human Ecology increase the overall admit rate, but the endowed colleges are more selective.

I hope you get off the wait list and go to Cornell. You might consider writing a letter stating your continuing interest in attending Cornell.

Is it too late to get off the waiting list there?

move to cornell page…you will get more responses

They would have sent a final decision if it were too late. You should inquire about the status of your application and express continuing interest.
