i heard the confirmation emails historically come out today before actual waitlist acceptance letters get released for some people. can someone confirm?

Apparently there was a CALS wave on Thursday? Does anyone know anything about the majors that got off, or any other patterns? Does anyone have any idea if there will be another wave?
I don’t think the term waves really fits. There was a small handful admitted last week, probably due to a small handful who originally committed to Cornell and got off waitlists at schools they preferred more. The incoming freshman class all just received their housing assignments. That, to me, signals that the class is full. Perhaps there may be a few small ripples if some committed students change their minds for whatever reason. But the chance of a waitlist acceptance at this point is quickly vanishing.
Son was surprised to have received a letter today telling him he can be admitted as a transfer after studying at a different institution for 1 year. I was not overly familiar with this type of offer. Note he did not write a LOCI, but says he probably stayed on the waitlist. Hope this is helpful to someone. CALS.

Those who got off the waitlist- how soon after you received your NetID did the housing portal open? My student received their netid on Saturday but housing portal has not opened yet (2 business days get done today).
As much as he likes Cornell, he does not plan on accepting the offer. Hope that gives it to someone else where the school is a #1 fit.
