Is it really that bad in winter…? How does it compare to, say, Dartmouth’s? What do you do in winter to either cope or enjoy the weather?

^Its weather is very similar to that of Dartmouth.

I do not agree with the comment about Dartmouth … I believe Cornell’s weather typically would be slightly better than Dartmouths. Cornell is located south of the finger lakes and therefore avoids the lake affect weather that hammers Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse … the weather in Ithaca is pretty similar to Boston actually … and a slightly shorter winter than Hanover.

(FWIW - I loved winter in college in Ithaca … traying on lib slope, coed touch football during snow storms, midnight runs during storms, and hockey season … and I would think Dartmouth grads have similar favorable memories about winters in Hanover).

There is an annual snow ball fight. Also, people sled down libe slope.

^ cool link … Dartmouth gets more snow mid winter and Cornell more rain in the summer … it would be great to see what was snow or rain in the fall and spring months when the total percipitation is even
