Cornell's Alternate Choice Program

I am interested in using Cornell’s alternate choice program to apply to AEM as my first choice and ILR as my second choice as I can see myself at either school. However, I have read that it can lower your chances for both schools. Is there any truth to this?

The word is that it not many people get into their second choice option. That makes sense, as your second choice is many people’s first choice. Cornell admission is a lot about fit and desire to be there. The Hotel School’s program is a bit more like AEM, as it’s a business degree with a hospitality twist. ILR is completely different, although it is said it’s the easiest college to get in to. AEM is one of the most difficult.
