Corporate Responsiblity Website

Help, you are the most diverse knowledgeable group I can contact.

I’m considering buying some stock in an international company with diverse mining interests, and I’m concerned about corporate responsibility - primarily are they supplying AK47s and machetes to bad people or not, but also environmental issues. Isn’t there a website somewhere that collects some of that info? My $5000 isn’t going to change the balance of power in South America or Africa, but I would rather not support that.

Just info, please, and if I am out of line asking for another website, mods, I apologize :o.

I cannot address the environmental issues, but as to the first part of your question, you might want to check OFAC to make sure they’re not on a denied parties list: http://www.treasury.gov/offices/enforcement/ofac/</a> - you can also check the beneficial owner names (corporate officers).

Then, depending on their country of corporate domicile, you might want to check the enforcement and denied parties lists issued by Bank of England, European Union, and United Nations. There are over 500 similar, smaller government enforcement lists around the world and if you can identify a specific country I can probably identify the correct foreign government resource.

they may have an environmental or social responsibilty report

Thank you both!
