% correct to get a 55th percentile?

This is confusing but basically my AP bio class had a take home practice test we had for 4 months. Me and one girl had the same answers so my teacher assumed we cheated and cut our grade in half giving us a 47.4 each. The only option is to now retake it in 90 min. which is ******** but I can’t do anything about it.

Anyway, to get the grade I want for the marking period I need a 55 or higher on it but it’s curved like a normal AP test was so I’m guessing the 95 I would have gotten means I would have been in the 95th percentile for that year (not surprising since we had 4 months lol). Is there a way to figure out roughly how many I need to get right out of the 120 to be 55th percentile?

Obviously I would try to get as many as possible but I’d just like to know

Thanks,
David

5 18.3%
4 15.7%
3 16.1%
2 15.3%
1 34.6%

This means 50.1% of the people who write the exam get a 3 or higher and around 50% get 3 or lower.

The curve to get a 3 is approximately 40%. Meaning you’re looking at about 48+/120.

Understand?

I get what your saying for the first part. So basically your saying people generally need to get 40% right to get a 3? But would that 3 only give me a 50% as my final grade/percentile? because I need a 55

Turns out I’m taking it tomorrow after school because she didn’t even show up friday lol so that sucks.
