When DD was taking the old/current SAT we considered 2300+ with at least 750 M/ 750 CR the point at which it really wasn’t worth retesting. S18 will be taking the new SAT in March, he would love to be ‘one and done’ since the new test is only on a 1600 scale, is it valid to assume that 1500, 750 M/ 750 R+W is still the score where he doesn’t need to worry about retesting or will this not hold true for the new SAT?
Does it matter if it’s 800 M/700 R+W ? If it makes a difference, he will not be applying to highly selective schools but will be chasing merit money, we will be full pay.
Also since the essay is separate and optional, can he take the essay a second time without taking the math and reading/writing portions?
