Check out LED rope light or LED tape light. Two different products, either might work depending on the situation.
Can you put scones on the wall going down the corridor? May need an electrician but there are many
decorative ones to buy.
When we had this issue in our last house we gave a lot of thought to installing sola tubes. We moved
but I have since seen them and do think they would work in an upstairs.
