Corrupt System

In every aspect of life, I’m crowded by ignorantly stupid people. It’s really starting to get on my nerves. Unless you’ve done something outstanding, you don’t deserve to walk around with stature that suggests it.

What I especially don’t like is this idea of a good student that most universities have adopted. High test scores, random extracurricular nonsense, and expressions that flaunt exuberance in persuasiveness.

The school system is flawed. How can you judge an individual’s intelligence based on their ability to memorize some information and then output it in a timed examination? That’s the most lazy and insubordinate test of intelligence there is!

So many people are seen as smart because they join pointless clubs and do stupid things that are in essence just wastes of time. For example, why should someone who joins student council be seen in any way as a better candidate for some of these top schools like Harvard than an individual who stays at home and expands their knowledge of Mathematics by him or herself? It doesn’t make sense. Is jumping around in school colors chanting random nonsense more important than understanding functions of the world or what about planning dances, does that require more intelligence than programming in Java? Extracurriculars are only in place as social gatherings and shouldn’t be seen as ways for intelligent people to express their eligibility for a university.

This is more of an issue with the social norms that we have in society today. People are viewed as better or worse based on their ability to attract people using persuasiveness in communications. I HATE THAT. Yes, it does take skill to manipulate words in any language to convey information but that is not necessarily one that SHOULD be important in life. In business, the ability to lie to someone’s face is invaluable and unfortunately is one of the best things a potential candidate for a job or university can have. Again, I HATE THAT. If I want to go to a school because I know that I’m smart and because I want to be at the pinnacle of innovation, I should be able to do so by proving my ability in that interest, not by flaunting extracurriculars and unjust test scores.

For the record, I’m not some guy who was rejected from university or from a job interview. I’m not someone who does poorly at school or someone who isn’t involved with things outside of school. I’m just 16 years old and I’m disgruntled with how poorly a job our ancestors have done at constructing a society. I intend on reaching the top of the world and making it better for intelligent people and not so favoured towards, as Holden Caufield would say, phonies.

Also one more thing … the English language is the most powerful weapon in human history. Unfortunately, it’s used for evil much more than it is for good.

Thanks.
