<p>If these two candidates keep surrounding themselves with corrupt people who put their self-interest above US national interest, how the presidential candidate will bring a change in politics. I left a country where anyone who fought against corruption got prosecuted. I immigrated to USA and thought that I left the corrupt politicians behind. But it seems, I was delusional that democrat and republicans are not corrupt. I am starting to get disheartened. Looks like all candidates are just asking a mantra of change to get elected yet practicing same old corrupt politics.</p>
<p>I was supporting Obama and now I feel bad that he may not be what he says. He is doing thismantra just to get elected yet when time comes, he picks bad people. I am starting to question his judgement. And I have no hope from McCain as he has his own equally bad baggage.</p>
<p>What is the adage? Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. It is dangerous and damaging to generalize about a candidate from one association, one issue, one mistake, one misstatement, or one anything else. No candidate is perfect. Obvious, we expect our candidates not to have done anything illegal. But they cannot always know everything, every potential skeleton in someone’s else’s closet. The question is, how do they react when they find out. With the episode with the head of the VP search committee, this guy had performed this job once or twice before, so Obama probably thought he had been fully vetted and scrutinized in the past. Something that was not a problem in the past turned into one this time, and he has dealt with it. Then there is the question of where do you draw the line between the illegal (obviously bad) and the unethical? If it becomes a pattern, then it’s a problem.</p>
<p>Two out of three candidates! it is more than half.</p>
<p>Every time a story comes, I try to deny and go next time - it is a pattern.</p>
<p>Would both candidates will pander to special interest group or make a policy that is good for USA and try to solve the problems rather than pass the buck? I would like them to have a forceful leadership and not pander to either Latino groups or conservative groups alike. It seems both are weak on this issue and pander to special groups – not a sign of a change mantra that they are uttering in their speeches.</p>
