<p>This is so depressing…I submitted my online app this morning and postmarked it before school, except that I got my winner’s notification for a science competition at about 9am. If only I had waited a few more hours before hitting send, then I could have included the actual award rather than just writing about my experience

<p>If it bugs you a lot, you can contact ucsd and they can write a note on your application regarding that…however, I’m not 100 percent sure they would.</p>
<p>I don’t think they are willing to make any exceptions because the deadline is today(if they allow one exception, they would have to allow other applicants to update their competition statuses), and I guess it is mostly my fault for not taking a chance and waiting a couple more hours (even though I had no idea they were announcing results today anyway).</p>

<p>I know! They just changed this stuff tonight. I believe this is the first time they’ve done this because it’s always been 5:00 PM (according to my teacher) and the teacher recs must have been done by today. That’s soooo odd.</p>

<p>Wow. Weird new deadline changes. It must have been really sudden, because UCD hasn’t even updated its main page and Twitter yet, and UCD has normally been very prompt about such things.</p>
<p>That’s so weird, why would they change it? A bunch of people were cramming to finish the application; my friend even didn’t going to school yesterday to finish it…AND it was last minute.</p>

<p>Maybe they got a lot of browser compatibility complaints regarding the new website and system and wanted to make up for it? I use Chrome, though. (Way better than Internet Explorer…)</p>

<p>Ugh. The only thing I have on my side, then, is this line from an email they sent to all of us: </p>
<p>“The online application system will shut down on Thursday March 1st. All supporting documents must also be postmarked by the following day normal Post Office business hours.”</p>
<p>You should contact someone from where you applied.</p>
