I wrote about what I liked about science/math and how I wanted to be an impact in those fields when I’m older. A teacher fellow at my school was giving us tips on what to write about because no one had a clue x) I heard that results come out mid April, correct?

For the short responses on why you chose a cluster, I wrote about how i want to pursue that subject in the future, but any tips on how to do it without sounding too cheesy?

@afourally hmm I thought it came out on May 1. For the essay I wrote something similar to that. For each cluster mini essay I had a theme for each one. The main essay was similar to yours. I just wrote about what I like most about science/math and why I want to go so badly. It’s so hard to put your passion into words!!

@lovecoffee104 Depends on what you mean by cheesy. I heard they like those essays where they’re like “Dang, this kid must be really obsessed with science/math.” Idk if that really made sense but if your essay sounds cheesy, don’t trip. Just let the raw passion come out.

@lovecoffee104 I agree, don’t worry if it’s too cheesy! It just means you really love it

My last teacher recommendation still isn’t done… even though I’ve been reminding her every few days. I mean, I know she’s super busy but… I’m getting really nervous!

@ vivng6991 same here. I told my teacher about the recommendation letter in January. I’m just going to talk to her tomorrow…

Did you already put in their emails? The recommendation isn’t even that long…idk why your teachers are lagging regardless if their busy x)

@afourally I put my teacher’s email in the day the application came out! I even reminded her several times over the past month, but she’s just been putting it off time after time. I don’t know how to ask her again without annoying her; she said she’d do it but… Aghh!

@afourally yeah I sent them the e-mails and double checked that they got it :\ oh well.

AHH I just submitted the application.

Well, as long as its done by March 1. I suggest you talk to them tomorrow and remind them when the deadline is without being too pushy. If you gave them a heads up a long time ago, they should understand where you’re coming from.

Is the program really worth the tuition fee? Seems a little steep

Yeah, the program is actually a capital-G Great deal for its kind. Plus it provides good financial aid for California residents. I’d say it’s definitely financially worth it (as it will probably be a huge cause of scholarships in the future).

Just hit submit. Whew, now it’s just the two month wait. Ughhhh :)

@michael2013 Yeah. If you have free lunch at your school, the entire program is free. I believe all you need is to deposit 100 dollars and you get it back by the end of the program. But if you’re like me and you dont have free lunch, you can apply for financial aid that could possibly lower your tuition cost :)

Question Please Respond
The deadline is March 1
Am I required to hit “submit” before midnight, or is it by 5 pm (as specified on one of the campus websites).

I’m pretty sure it’s by 5 pm. What campus are you applying to?

lol I think I mentioned it earlier in the thread: UCSD

I refuse to submit anything until my essays are triple revised

Yes, 5 PM…but I would advise you send it tonight. You still have to go to the post after school and all that before it closes.

Oh and I thought you had applies to UCD: Chemistry In Life? x) Or am I mistaking…

no I am applying to Regenerative Medicine/ Tissue Engineering at UCSD X)
