<p>I was accepted into UC Merced with an estimated cost of $25,434.00 and when I was checking out my Financial Aid Awards, I noticed that it included things such as Fed Direct Unsubsidized, Subsidized, and Work-Study Opportunities. My total for the Unsubsidized and Subsidized loans for Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 were $5,500. So does this mean I have to borrow that much money? I wouldn’t really know how to pay that off… so it’s kind of discouraging me from attending.</p>
<p>Also, I was wondering how I would go about changing my major; I was accepted for Environmental Engineering and I’m considering a different major such as Pre-Med or something.</p>
