cost of housing

the dorms are pretty expensive, over 10k for next year.

how do the smaller, private colleges manage to make them more spacious and half the price?

I don't know, but it might just be that the city of Berkeley is terribly expensive. Property cost more to buy and maintain here than it idoes in, say, palo alto.

Washington and Lee has great dorm rooms at about $4000 a year. Why? It is Lexington, VA.

UCLA has expensive housing as well (because it is Westwood).

Georgetown's housing is expensive becaues it is in the city of Georgetown.

Get the trend?

Oh, right. Location. Too bad I grew up in the Bay Area =\ and know this place already.

because our tuition is cheap

are you sure its not $4000 a semester

its 5.5k per semester for double, and even 6k+ for single per semester.
