Hello there,
I’m going to choose my college, and I would like to know about the cost of living of three different cities:
- Tempe, AZ
- Baton Rouge, LA
- Morgantown, WV

P.S. I lived in Ann Arbor, MI and the cost of living was very very high! I hope to find something cheaper.

well i cant speak for arizona or lousiana, but as a native west virginian and future wvu student i think i can speak for west virginia lol. ive found that the cost of living is pretty low in wv. as for morgantown itself, its won awards about being one of the best small towns in america and stuff like that (i cant remember the specifics, im sure you could find it online) so morgantown has a very reasonable cost of living too. and its a college town, the whole town is pretty much built around wvu, so the town really caters to college students. there is always a cheap place to eat around every corner! however, apartments/trailers can get expensive in morgantown. i would reccomend staying in a dorm for at least a year, and then try to find a good deal on apartments.

I know or sure that Baton Rouge, LA is none to pricey.

West Virginia is most likely the cheapest of the three. Unless you live in one of those swamp towns in Louisiana. That’d be fun…

I agree that Morgantown has the least expensive living costs, though you might want to look at some standard scales for official numbers. Be aware that low cost of living can equal fewer job opportunities. Also look at what the housing costs are to be close to the university. WV has very cheap housing but I don’t know how inflated the costs are for anyone wanting be within walking range of the college. Costs then start to spike.
