I just was notified that you can customize and order brochures, business cards, etc online through Costco Business Center. I made an attempt that D will be improving. Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge or experience with it?
They have some nice templates that have attractive photos and layouts. My graphic/artistic D was impressed. The prices are pretty reasonable as well.
I’m mostly interested in brochures and business cards.
Business printing has been offered at Costco business centers since at least about two decades ago. I personally have not used it but I have seen folks picking stuff at the counter every time we were in their business store (it is different from a regular Costco - the packages of products sold there are even bigger; think 20 lb of ribs instead of 7-10). If the price is right, I would give them a shot. If you don’t like the quality… it is Costco. I am sure they will make it right.
Thanks—yes I have been very pleased with the service I’ve received at Costco and D is happy with the brochure template. I’m thinking of giving it a try—just surprised I can’t find online reviews about their brochure printing service anywhere.
I can second the quality and ease of using Vistaprint to design your own business cards and the quality for the price (I got mine during a 50% off type sale - a bargain!)
But I have to imagine Costco will do a decent job and stand behind it.
For the business I work for, we design our own business cards and brochures and posters on the office iMac, then send them as a PDF by email to The UPS Store, FedEx Office, or a local printer for the actual printing.
Before ordering a lot of something, we usually like to see one or two in hand first. Sometimes, a lay out will look amazing on the computer monitor, but when printed out, you notice the font size, or coloring, the contrast, or something else just looks “off”.
I have not noticed any difference in print quality between our three sources. We will go with the local printer when we need a little more hand-holding on a project, or want to arrange a barter. The UPS Store is great for basic posters and flyers and quick returns. Our FedEx Office store can do more complicated projects than our The UPS Store and has way more choices (paper, ink colors, banners).
Oh! I just remembered. We used MOO (online) to do stickers for us one year.
We just made a brochure using a simple template in Pages on the iMac. We had FedEx Office print off 6 copies. We passed it around the office and got input for changes. We then took the final version to the local printer for a bulk order.
Thanks—I have mocked up the brochure I made on the Costcobusinessprinting.com website and sent it out to my board and printed from a pdf of it to see roughly what it looks like.
Appreciate reading about your process, which sounds great, but am mystified as to why there are NO reviews online about this Costco service.
Yeah, @BunsenBurner, but nonetheless, I’m still surprised there aren’t reviews anywhere I can find online. They do have attractive templates but I have been a bit frustrated teaching myself how to use them effectively and editing my brochures. It still does produce nicer work than I could easily manage without the templates. D is quite impressed.
OK, I just got off the phone with a businessman I know. He says he’s been using Costco printing a lot and has been quite pleased with their work and competitive prices. He has no complaints. That was reassuring, as he does printing at a lot of different places nationwide and is rather particular.
Yippee–after speaking with tech support a few times and that friend, I’m getting closer to the final version of our brochure. I’ll bring it to the support meeting tomorrow and see what the patients think of it and then I think we will order some and see how well they are received.
