We don’t have Sam’s in NYC (nor Walmart), but we have BJ’s. Inconvenient for me to get to without a car. I go to Costcoon the subway with my Granny cart and home on the bus, unless I have access to a car.

Well there goes my money!!

The hotdog totally makes it worth-it.

Costco rotisserie chickens are the best. I use it for the chicken on salads for dinner once or twice a week and we make burritos or tacos with it. We use it in pasta dishes or buffalo chicken dip. I make chicken salad with it. There is so much you can do with the chicken and it really makes dinners during the week so easy.

I’ve seen that Mac and cheese at Whole Foods. I think the pasta might have vegetables in it. I see lots of young parents buying it.

H loves the chewable gummy fiber that we used to buy at Costco but Costco has inexplicably stopped buying it. We had to go and get it from Sam’s Club, so bought a few more items as well.

I went to Sam’s to get a hotdog for lunch. The line was backed up all the way to the pharmacy…not because it’s popular, but because Sam’s Club is slow and understaffed. There’s a difference. I got in my car and drove to Costco. I had a hotdog ready in 2 minutes. That’s how it’s done!

A podcast I was listening to this morning was talking about this:

I never heard of outside Costco food “court” areas!

In New Orleans the food court is outside. In other locations, you could just walk in the exit and head straight to the food court without showing your card, just like if you were going to the returns desk.

@abasket - Here in Southern California our Costco food courts are all outside. H and I ate lunch at Costco the weekend before last since we were shopping there for the alcohol for D1’s wedding. At our Costco you have to place your order and pay at a kiosk and you must have a Costco card to do this. Also when you enter Costco now there is a scanner at the door for your card.

No greeter at the door? - modern times!!!

One day I’m going to bucket list eating from the Costco food court. To be honest, I really just wish I could order at the register when checking out, and have someone hand it to me without having to maneuver all the inside picnic tables which I do not want to sit at anyway!

Years ago we bought one of their pizzas and took it home. A couple times years ago my youngest would get some of the soft serve as we were leaving. What else worthwhile (as fast food goes) do they have that you enjoy?

There is still a greeter at the door standing by the scanner.

The warm chocolate chip cookie is pretty good.
Our food court is outside, we had a hot dog for the first time in many years a few weeks ago. I’m now good for another few years. We had to order at the kiosk and go pick up. I felt it took longer. They were taking orders at the window for those with cash. I didn’t see them ask the guy in front of me for a Costco card. My daughter got a bunch of pizzas for a birthday party and while it’s not my favorite it’s a good buy and everyone seemed to enjoy it.
No scanner yet at our entrance.

I could probably gain 8 oz just by staring at that cookie for 6 seconds.

My husband and I shared. It’s super rich and I can’t imagine eating the whole thing.

For me the cookie isn’t worth it. I’d rather indulge in something else.

In preparation of paying for college, we’re dropping our Costco membership and keeping Sam’s. There…we saved $5 a month. Woohoo!

Any experience with Sam’s cakes? I might order a half sheet for a birthday party. If I pick buttercream frosting (instead of whipped cream)…. how long can I keep it outside of fridge?
