Costco or Sam's Club

Years go our Safeway reorganized. And they decided to keep the old, inaccurate alphabetized product/aisle index sign. I’d think either update it or at least cover it over.

Has anyone had the chocolate chip cookie at Costco? Is it worth the shopping trip?

Good, is it worth the trip? Idk, I’d buy if I were there and it’s 700 calories.

Chick fil a’s is better. Their chocolate chip cookie is my favorite and we’ve tested a lot of chocolate chip cookies. A sneaky good item on their menu.

I’m not a fan. It’s soooo sugary. But I am a cookie snob - I make homemade chocolate chip cookies often.

When a Costco opened up in our area people found that they far preferred Costco’s chocolate chip cookies to Sam’s, in case that’s a helpful point of comparison.

The Costco we most frequently use is remodeling their food service area up front. I want my chocolate soft serve!!

Several times over the last few years, a Costco employee pulled my card while at check-out, and returned trying to “upsell” my membership level. They explain that I spend the required amount and mention I could upgrade to the Executive level at a discounted rate – but “only if I upgrade today”. That “sales tactic” is really bothersome – especially coming from Costco. I always say no. I’m also not sure where they get their information. I’ve checked total Costco purchases from prior years (from logged receipts), and am nowhere near the Executive member spending level, unless they include car rentals through Costco as a purchase price?

I believe you would get the % back from the Executive Card on any spend at Costco (including spends on rental cars, gas, vacation packages, etc). Specific list of things not counted include alcohol purchases in store though.

We were going to drop Costco in favor of Sam’s, but I just can’t do it. It’s like cutting off a limb.

$3000 = $250/month spending

I hit that easily.

A couple of bigger items in a year - maybe a tv and a rental car reservation - would make it pretty easy to hit that $3000.

It says the annual reward is capped at $1,000. Last year on my regular membership I got over $1,200 back.

It is the 2% extra for the executive members on spending at Costco or Costco.com that gets capped at $1,200 now. The Visa cashback is a separate cashback.

If you have an executive membership and you aren’t going to hit the sweet spot, you just call them a month or 2 before renewal and they will repay you the difference between what you earned back and the $60 You spent. (Well it looks like now you downgrade the membership and they refund the difference, or give you back $60 and delete the amount earned. Same difference)

Big disappointment today :sleepy:. On the road. Got to Costco for gas, and it is closed…Walmart and I bet Sam’s are open.

Costco always gives their employees the major holidays off. It’s the right thing to do.

And they are paid holidays, apparently.

Costco regulars know that the stores are always closed on the 4 major holidays (TG, Christmas, Memorial Day, and Labor Day) and usually plan accordingly, so days before those are Costco shopping h*ll. We stopped by our Costco yesterday to replenish our berries supply, and the store was busy!

They are closed on more than just those 4 holidays:
